vaccinations. In a broader sense, it is about helping local
public health providers lead through innovation.

How to Participate

Thank you for considering participation in the 2008 Vote & Vax program! We are looking forward to assisting more providers than ever to reach our goal of establishing clinics at or near polling places across the country.

To help you achieve your goals, Vote & Vax will give you free step-by-step guidance and materials to help plan and hold successful clinics, including detailed assistance on how to work with local election authorities.

As a local partner, you will also receive a marketing toolkit to help promote your Vote & Vax clinics. The packets will include posters and press release and media advisory templates that you can customize. As part of the program, you will also have ongoing access to technical assistance for specific or local problems you may encounter.

Polk County Health Department, Florida

On Election Day 2006, the Polk County Health Department held Vote & Vax clinics in two polling places in their county. Clinic staff administered over 300 flu shots, as well as pneumococcal vaccinations. The Vote & Vax clinic not only met the goals set by the Health Department; it also became their most successful vaccination clinic of that year, delivering over 60 percent more vaccines that any other clinic.
